What Is Financial Coaching?
Financial Coaching Is A Collaborative, Educational Relationship That Empowers You To Achieve Financial Freedom And Personal Freedom.
You've probably noticed that most financial education teaches you how to do something – how to invest in stocks, how to buy real estate, or how to save money. That is all fine and good, but it's not enough. Few people will achieve financial freedom with this type of how-to instruction. It's worth learning, but it's not what is necessary to transform your financial situation.
Teaching you how to build wealth by showing you how to buy stocks or real estate is like teaching the obese how to lose weight by showing them how to eat less and exercise more. Duhh! But so what? Anybody who wants to lose weight already knows what needs to be done, yet something is keeping them from doing it.

"Creating and maintaining wealth is a simple formula and not a mystery. Todd Tresidder has that formula. He makes it so easy that my two young children started implementing his systems." Beth Dispenza – Entrepreneur, Malibu, CA. |
Similarly, everyone who wants to build wealth already knows they should earn more, save more, and invest more wisely. It's not a big secret. In fact, it is obvious. The problem is not in knowing what to do: the problem is in implementation – actually getting it done. That is what will make or break your success.
Financial coaching bridges the gap between knowing what to do and actually getting it done. That's why it works.
How Financial Coaching Is Different
You are the cause and your money is an effect. It is impossible for you to make an external change to your financial picture without also making an internal change to your financial intelligence. For that reason financial coaching operates on both the internal and external levels simultaneously so that they are integrated into one cohesive, wealth building blueprint.

"In just 12 months of coaching we accomplished the goals we set out to achieve and got more than we expected. We expected you to teach us how to take our real estate investing to the next level – which you did. You helped us save tens of thousands of dollars by avoiding many mistakes and getting us to question our thinking and approach deals in different ways. You gave us tons of investment tips, and kept us focused until we got the right deal. We feel emotionally grounded; we know what we are doing and why; we know how to control risk; how to save thousands through skilled negotiating; and we have a complete action plan for years of future growth. Another benefit was how the regularly scheduled coaching calls kept us accountable, moving forward, and there is no way we would have accomplished all this without your coaching. I'm so amazed at what has happened to us in just one short year." Jeni & Eric Kurowski – Owners, CCR Storage, Willis TX. |
Think of the external level as how-to instruction and the latest investment techniques. The external level includes everything outside of you like money, investments, and instruction about these topics. But the internal level is different: it's all about how you process all this information, make decisions, and get into action. The internal level is all about you. The difference is night and day.
Unfortunately, the internal process is ignored by most financial education even though it is critical to your financial success. The implied assumption is if you are taught the latest investment technique about how to become wealthy then you will duplicate the success of the teacher and achieve the same results. Wrong! It doesn't work that way.
The reason you know that is true is because the libraries and internet are filled with more business and investment how-to instruction then you could implement in a lifetime – yet you are still not rich so it can't be from a lack of information. Some people incorrectly conclude they just need the "right" information as if there is a missing secret to be found. The truth is there are no secrets.
The missing ingredient that separates financial success from mediocrity is you – your internal decision process. You are not a computer where input X equals output Y. Human beings don't work that way, yet almost all financial education is based on this flawed assumption. Amazing!
The experts sell you information but what you need is transformation. They teach how-to information but never provide the transformational tools necessary for you to act on that information and produce results in your life. In short, they forgot the essential ingredient you need to succeed.
How Financial Coaching Gets Results
Financial coaching is different because the focus is on you – not the instruction. Sure, we teach business and investment strategy also, but that is not what will make or break your success. How well you integrate and apply the instruction is the key to your success. That is what makes financial coaching different.
When you get into action obstacles will appear and overcoming those inevitable obstacles is where all the learning and growth occurs. This crucial step is ignored by most wealth building programs, yet it is central to financial coaching.

"We just hit another break-through as our business … (too long a list of business milestones achieved to include). I hope you see these updates for what they actually are and that this is happening because of the work we did together years ago. You helped us shift our thoughts and practices which made us look at ourselves and how we do things. This helped us create the infrastructure and contracts that we have today." Dan Cosgrove – CEO, Mercantile Systems, Brentwood, CA. |
In other words, financial coaching still teaches the essential principles behind the external game including risk management, leverage, competitive edge, mathematical expectation, continuity, proven investment principles, techniques, and much more. However, what is unique about financial coaching is how it integrates that instruction with your internal game – your thinking and habitual practices that have held you back from the success you desire.
The integration of both the internal and external game of wealth building into a single coaching model is what produces powerful results. When you add in some of the other benefits of coaching including accountability, support and expert insight you have a complete system that literally pulls you toward financial freedom.
